Things to Do Near the Park

Fish the pond without leaving the park, or walk the grounds with your dog. When you’re ready to explore, spend a morning at Bellingrath Gardens, tour the USS Alabama at Battleship Memorial Park, or head down to Dauphin Island for the beach and the Sea Lab. The Alabama Gulf Coast beaches at Gulf Shores and Orange Beach are an easy day trip. In late winter, Mobile hosts the oldest Mardi Gras celebration in the country. We’re close enough for the parades and quiet enough to recover afterward.
